    Is Bankruptcy a crime?

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 10:08 AM GMT [Moans]

Please forgive my English mistakes. But when in my previous post a put "his crisis" instead of "this crisis", maybe was a freudian slip. Maybe incounsciously I meant: The chief of the now-bankrupt Lehman Brothers, Richard S. Fuld Jr..
Who: "told irate members of Congress that all his decisions “were both prudent and appropriate” given the information he had at the time."

Just google it and you can find more infos.

But is it right that rich/important people can take wrong decisions, sent bankrupt a bank and lost of other small money savers who trust him. Make a fortune out of all his decisions. Giving huge bonus and make rich lost of other friends. Ruin the4 market. Ruin the life of lots of tax payers. Get the money of the tax payers to safe his business and his job. And get away with a simple arrogant “were both prudent and appropriate” given the information he had at the time."???

I thought Bankruptcy was a crime?

What would it happen if small people like me do the same with their own small business?
    Just think.

    Mug or not?

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 09:58 AM GMT [Property and Home]

The builders took pity on me yesterday and offered to make me a cup of tea. Just a cup though, no Tesco value biscuits. In a dastardly attempt to keep them on my side I’ve been plying then intermittently with a Variety selection – value, of course. It must have been the steam issuing from my ears after I was verbally abused in the local woods whilst walking the dog that caused them to take pity on me. I’m not very good when taken by surprise and accosted with ‘you selfish sh.. .’ , by another woman just because my dog barked at her. And yes, if I could rewind, what a retort I would have given her! But it did come in handy when someone at the station backed into my car this morning as I was parked and kissing my daughter goodbye for school. As I got out to inspect the damage, asking the other driver in a questioning voice ‘just what do you think you’re doing?’ the sight of her welling up made me stop and think. So I instead asked her if she was feeling alright. Now, either she’s on for an Oscar for her performance or I was right to follow my gut instinct when she replied that she was on the way to the GP’s as she wasn’t feeling well. Ok, M-U-G might be written across my forehead but there was no damage to my car as the bumper took it all and isn’t life to short to get wound up when someone isn’t functioning properly? So after making sure she had calmed down I waited for her to go on her way. I’ve been there -  who knows what caused her to crumble ; hormones, husband or health?

Nigella Lawson question puts Steve Coppell in a stew

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 09:50 AM GMT [General]

It had been a routine afternoon for Steve Coppell. He had seen his Reading side cruise to a comfortable 3-1 win over Burnley, and the questions in the press conference had so far been regulation. Pleased with the win? Any knocks? And so on...

    Gallery Photo
Something brewing: Coppell is questioned about TV cook Nigella

But then - out of the blue - he was caught off-guard and there was much mirth at the Madejski. What did he make of the revelation that Charles Saatchi had dreamed that his TV cook wife Nigella Lawson was sleeping with the Reading manager?

It was a surreal moment, but he saw the funny side and showed a nice line in self-deprecating humour, as he protested: "I've never even met her. What hurt was [being] described as a balding gnome. The sad thing was, she didn't think it, he did... he wished it upon her; she must have p***** him off big time! Yes, some people have been teasing me and sending me cuttings of the article. But not the players - they know better."

Reading are on a roll now, though, and I believe they will achieve automatic promotion, unless they lose Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt in January.

QPR have problems, though, the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham extending their winless run in the league to four.

Iain Dowie is under pressure, and woke up on Sunday to see Peterborough's young manager Darren Ferguson linked with the Loftus Road hotseat. Yesterday Dowie confirmed he wants to bring a striker in on loan, saying: "Anyone in this division looks enviously at Birmingham's squad."

Although Crystal Palace's 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest only took them up to 18th, they have had three good results in the league in a row now, and are only three points behind fifth-placed Plymouth. Manager Neil Warnock has said he has buried the hatchet with Shefki Kuqi, who was transfer-listed after making a gesture to Palace fans in last season's home match with Wolves, and the striker scored on Saturday.

Watford are also only four points away from the play-off positions, and achieved a terrific 2-1 win over Preston, especially after the spat between former chairman Elton John and the current holder of the role, Graham Simpson, that had stolen the headlines in the build-up to the game.

And also congratulations to Charlton, who beat Ipswich in an entertaining match at The Valley. Manager Alan Pardew admitted he didn't expect midfielder Zheng Zhi to stay at the club this season, but he is impressing since his return from the Olympics. Their campaign is very much at the crossroads - but if they are to mount a push for the play-offs, they must nick a few more away wins.

Plans for Taker to LOSE at Wrestlemania!!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 04:28 AM EST [General]

    Hi All

Apparantly the WWE board and writers are planning for Undertaker to lose his unbeaten Wrestlemania record, however only to an upcoming Champion in the making - it won't be next year apparantly as they don't have anyone ready, and Vince has had to be persuaded, however they believe it could be, if he progresses into what they want him to be, Ted Di Biase.....they will bring the storyline in that Ted Di Biase Snr brought him into the WWF/E and the junior will finish him.........THAT SUCKS!!!

Let me know what you think............!

An Open Letter to Alistair Darling

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 09:19 AM GMT [Politics]

    Dear Mr Darling

This morning every Finance Director up and down the land, with the support of his Chief Executive, is revising his company's plans for the coming months, much of which involves cutting costs in the face of falling expectations for revenue.

Faced with the prospect of lower tax receipts from VAT (lower trade generally), Corporation Tax (lower company profits, and many going bust) and Income Tax (fewer people in work) coupled with higher payments for unemployment benefit, can you, in your role as Finance Director of UK PLC, enlighten us as to what plans you have made to cut the costs of the public sector in a government that has already borrowed beyond prudent levels? And do you have the support of your own Chief Executive?

Alternatively, given that you already look like an undertaker, can you confirm that you have been retained to oversee the death of UK PLC?

    Yours sincerely

    Seattle Welcomes WWE RAW

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 04:08 AM EST [General]

With a nearly sold out show. There weren't too many empty seats other than the ones that were blocked off around cameras. :)

RAW tonight was a FANTASTIC show. I've seen better matches than a couple of the ones we had tonight, but even so, it was a great show.

I had a floor seat in the corner right next to the ramp, but on the non-televised side. I definitely recommend that area, and the non-televised side over the televised side. You get to see everyone so close and they face you so much more often.

Our dark match was Dolph Ziggler (!) vs. Rowdy Charlie Haas! I really enjoyed that match. It was short, but lots of fun. I still am really enjoying Charlie Haas's antics.

Jericho coming out was greeted with about 50-50 cheers and boos. Batista got nearly all cheers from everybody everywhere. (I admit it, I love saying Ba-TIST-a! It sounds funny and it makes me laugh.)

HBK's maunderings on the titantron was just weird. He sounded ... he sounded drunk, honestly. But oh well. He's not my favorite, or even in my top 10, so I pretty much ignored him. :)

Kofi is adorable. I really liked seeing him and then the Priceless stable come down. Then Punk came out and the entire crowd went BALLISTIC. In my opinion, Ted DiBiase has a LOT of potential and is a decent wrestler (or will be), but his timing still needs some work. Some of his moves were just slightly off in their timing. But he was good and the match was really good.

I chatted with the guy sitting next to me during the commercial breaks, and that was fun.

Listening to the amount of cheering when Orton came out or was on the tron was very interesting. The Dolph Ziggler bit when he tries to introduce himself to Mark Henry and Kane was very funny.

Rey Mysterio is definitely popular in Seattle. The cheering was nearly deafening when he came out. Matt Hardy got about the same amount of pop and he's not generally as popular as Rey is.

The crowd was nearly silent when Mark Henry came out. I think most people were afraid that he might sweat on them. :D

Kane is also apparently hugely popular in Seattle. There were several Pro-Kane signs and only 1 anti-Kane sign that I saw.

The tag match with Hardy and Mysterio vs Kane and Mark Henry was a very popular match. Hardy got huge pops all through the match. Matt and Rey worked really well together, but not nearly as well as Evan Bourne and Mysterio do.

I know that I'm supposed to cheer for the faces, and I really really like Matt and Rey, but Kane is my favorite wrestler of all time. I even like him better than his brother, The Undertaker. So even through I like Rey and Matt, I cheer for Kane no matter what.

When Rey hit the floor by the ramp that was a horrible sounding thump. He went Ka-THUNK-thunk. I was very glad that I don't have to take that fall. :) The size difference between Rey and Kane was suprising. It doesn't matter how often I have seen it on the TV, seeing it in person was still startling.

I hope that I got some good pictures out of my over 700 pictures from the show. :) I'm sure I got at least some passable ones, but I haven't seen them yet. They are still downloading from the memory card. And I have 2 36 exposure roles of film to develop.

HBK got HUGE cheers from the crowd when he came out. Lance Cade got almost nothing. :)

The sound of the table breaking when HBK landed on it reverberated through the entire arena. Horrible sound, just to share. :)

Okay, when Miz and Morrison came out, I nearly wet myself laughing at Morrison's glitter. And seeing it on the broadcast, I can see that it is actually the body rhinestones, and I laughed even harder. The crowd went WILD when Cryme Tyme came out. In fact the so called Diva's match between Jillian and Kelly Kelly got almost NO reaction from the crowd. I was far more entertained with what I could see of the boys posturing against each other.

I wish that we could get something to allow us to hear the commentators during the show. Gyms sell or give out little FM radio things and WWE could do something liek that. They can be tuned to a specific station and let us hear what the commentators are saying. That would have been a heck of a lot more interesting than the boring and terrible Diva match. Jillian doesn't sell her blows well, and Kelly Kelly barely sells the impact. And Kelly Kelly needs to work on her jumping ability so she can actually get up in the air.

Jericho got more booing when he came back out the second time. Probably because he had spent some time haranguing the crowd earlier. >:P

JBL got a lot of booing as well. I don't care for him (as I am supposed to)... But I'll give him this... For all that he is no longer a good wrestler, and I spend more time making fun of his baby powdered legs, than anything else... The man is GOOD on the mic. He really is very good at riling up the local crowd (but honestly, santino did it better with his Oklahoma Thunder promo. At least for Seattle.)

I think of the whole night, HBK was the number 1 favorite in town followed closely by Batista.

There was a lot of heat on Jericho for the last match between JBL and Batista. It was great.

We even got a second dark match at the end, with Rey Mysterio and Batista vs Kane and Jericho. I was absolutely THRILLED.

I did get some nice pictures and some okay pictures and some terrible ones where I got jostled or something and they were just awfully blurry.

But at least I was better off than a some people who were sent back to their cars to put their cameras away. I was allowed in with both of mine. So I was pretty happy. :)

And now, it is just after 1am, and while I am not yet sleepy, I know I will be in just a little while. And when I finally crash, I am going to crash HARD.

Well, on the bright side... since I got laid off, I don't have to get up for work in the morning. LOL

If I could afford it in any way, I would be heading out to Spokane tomorrow (today) for the ECW/Smackdown show.  But I can't.  As it is, I am going to be hardpressed to find a way to afford a ticket to the No Way Out PPV...

But rest assured....  I will be going.

A plea from a novice blogger

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 08:46 AM GMT [General]

As some of you know, I am very new to this site, and so far I am enjoying the experience. I know how to find comments on my posts, but can anyone tell me if there is a quick way to find other posts and comments on them without scrolling through hundreds of pages to find the one I want. There have been times I have been interested in a line and theme of comments, but because I have been looged out for a few hours or overnight, the posts and comments have dropped off the Home page.
